Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy said on his Telegram channel that Ukraine is today submitting an application for accelerated accession to NATO. Literally it said:

“We trust each other, we help each other and we protect each other. This is the alliance. De facto. Today, Ukraine is making the request so that it is de jure. Following a process consistent with our importance to protecting our entire community. In urgent proceedings.”

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will hold an extraordinary press conference for journalists at Alliance headquarters on the evening of September 30. This emerges from a statement on the website of the alliance. The subject of Stoltenberg’s speech was not disclosed.

Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada amended two laws in December 2014, giving up the country’s non-aligned status. In February 2019, Ukraine’s parliament passed a constitutional amendment spelling out the country’s commitment to the EU and NATO. Ukraine is the sixth country to receive NATO’s Enhanced Partner Status.

Washington has repeatedly stated that Ukraine has not yet been able to become a NATO member. At the same time, the US stressed that the Alliance would never give up its “open door” policy.

Ukraine will apply for NATO membership TODAY. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video speech.

The application is said to be for accelerated accession. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is scheduled to make an unscheduled statement at 6 p.m. German time.

Zelenskyj said on Telegram that his country had already “de facto” made its way towards NATO. “We trust each other, we help each other and we protect each other.” Ukraine now wants to join the alliance “de jure”.

Earlier on Friday, Kremlin despot Vladimir Putin celebrated the illegal annexation of the four Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Cherson and Zaporizhia. The entire warmongering elite was invited, including Putin’s bloodhound Ramzan Kadyrov.

The Russian’s speech? The usual confused reckoning with the West. The allegations ranged from “double standards” to “historical crimes”.

When Putin was done, the expected applause erupted. Pictures, on the other hand, showed how much the Russian elite was bored during the words of the 69-year-old!

US impose more sanctions

The US has imposed further sanctions on Russia in response to the Russian annexation. The punitive measures are aimed, among other things, against other Russian government officials, their family members and members of the military, as the US government announced on Friday in Washington.
